Galilei

2024. 04. 06.

Galilei is the name of one of our CanSats built for the CanSat Hungary 2024 competition. He was the first CapySat we built, so he was selected to fly. The CapySat is our version of a CanSat, which is a model of a real satellite. It was designed and made by us to be reliable and easy to operate.

On the 5th of April, at 12:20, Galilei was launched by a rocket to an altitude of 1195m. After reaching that altitude, he descended with the help of a parachute and landed safely. Throughout its mission, Galilei measured temperature, pressure, humidity, VOC levels, acceleration, and its position. He transmitted the data via its onboard radio, which was receieved by Curie, our second CanSat on the ground. Galilei was safely recovered based on the transmitted GPS coordinates.

We analysed and presented the measured data on the 6th of April to the judges and the other teams. Thanks to the quality of the data and the reliability of Galilei, we won the competition!

Now Galilei is displayed at Boronkay high school along with our award.
